Mechanical Illustrator and Designer Hidetaka Tenjin began drawingat the age of three and has since become a renowned professional artist in Japan’s anime production and plastic model kit industry. His art style brings a breathtaking realism to some of anime’s most iconic mecha properties, among them – most notably – The Super Dimension Fortress Macross and its many sequels. BANDAI SPIRITS and HASEGAWA, two of Japan’s top model kit manufacturers, routinely work with Tenjin and showcase his artwork on their retail products, such as the popular Master Grade Gundam model kit series.
Tenjin has worked on many high-profile projects over the last two decades, including: Macross Zero, Macross Frontier and Macross Delta (TV & movies), Hellsing Ultimate, Knights & Magic, SAINT SEIYA LEGEND of SANCTUARY, Genesis of Aquarion, and Aquarion Evol. Most recently, he has worked on Super Robot Wars T (PS4, Nintendo Switch) as an illustrator, and “Gen no Mai,” a Chinese animated short. When he’s not busy illustrating, Tenjin is active in the Japan Chapter of the 501st Legion (TK 5033), where he’s been a member for the past decade.
